

Sergei Golovko
Sergei Golovko is a renowned percussion soloist, performer, and educator. He is known for his vibrant interpretations of famous compositions and his own compositions, which showcase his masterful marimba technique. Music critic Michael Easton has praised his performances as "percussion pyrotechnics" and described him as a "man with helium hands." Sergei has toured worldwide as a soloist on xylophone and marimba, performing at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Wiener Musikverein in Austria.
Sergei is the Founder and Director of the Australian Percussion Academy (APA) in Melbourne, which has been offering high-quality education in orchestral percussion and marimba performance since 2010. His teaching methods emphasize technique, musicality, and precision. Additionally, Sergei's instructional literature, arrangements, and compositions for solo marimba and percussion ensembles are published through Edition Svitzer (Denmark) and his own SG Music Publishing and Australian Percussion Academy Pty Ltd.
He is frequently invited to participate in international juries for marimba competitions, such as the Universal Marimba Competition in Belgium, the World Percussion Movement Marimba and Percussion Competition in Italy, the In Percussion Festival and Competition in Costa Rica, the I Percutiendo Festival in Medellín, Colombia, and the Jeju International Brass and Percussion Competition in South Korea among others.
Over the course of 18 years, Sergei was appointed an International Master Educator and Artist Endorser by Malletech (USA). He presented workshops, master classes, and percussion clinics worldwide. Sergei also serves as the Founder and Artistic Director of the Australian Marimba Competition.
Currently, Sergei Golovko is an Adams Marimba Artist with Adams Company (Holland) and an International Artist with GROVER company (US).
